Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

I know they had white skin because they used to live in places where the sun was usually "hidden". But the blue eyes and blonde hair?

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

Because their bodies didn't use a lot of melanin - the pigment that colors hair and eyes as well as skin.

Blonde hair is obviously the lightest color hair a person can have; blue eyes are the lightest color eyes a person can have (the only "color" that lighter is not a pigment color - it's the red or pink eyes that appear in albinos).

So a person with fair skin, blonde hair and blue eyes appears that way because of very, very low levels of melanin.

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

Maybe because black peoples defence against the sun was by having dark skin, dark eyes, and dark hair (all natural defences). All protects them against the sun deadly rares. Maybe white people originally came from a place that they did not need these natural defences against the sun. I heard people with blond hair and blue eyes, if they don't protect themselves properly, can eventually get skin cancer.

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

Well, I am Caucasian, but have dark brown eyes and hair. Oh, and I am of German and Swedish heritage.

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

What about white people with brown, green, or hazel eyes? How about red hair or brunettes? Lots of different combinations available with white people. Everyone else on the planet is the same, dark skin, dark hair, dark eyes. Boring, boring, boring. Yyyaaawwwnnn...

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

My skin is light in tone, but, my eyes are slate grey, and my is light auburn. Not exactly "typical".

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

Because they didn't need the pigment for protection.

It may surprise you but a lot of people from Ethiopia who are considered "black" have the most strikingly beautiful green eyes.

Many American Indians across the continent have blues eyes, not a recent thing.

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

Crazy, is'nt it? You ever seen a mix-breed? Or colors bursting out from a prism when natural light beams on it's face, causing a beautiful reflection?

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

The people before me have allready told you why the hair and eye colour (melanin ) but there`s a lot more too it than that .I`ll just give you one example .Noses people from very hot countries tend to have wider noses to let more heat out of the body and people from colder places ,thinner to keep the heat in .i would have a look on the internet about it i can be very interesting if you like to know about that sort of thing

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

It is natural for White people to appear in a wide range of hair and eye colors. As far as I know, the White race is the only race in which this happens naturally. All other races have very dark brown or black hair and very dark brown or black eyes.

In a few White racial subgroups, blonde hair and blue eyes are the norm. They are, however, recessive traits and would be obscured by any significant degree of outbreeding with groups having darker hair and eyes.

But, to answer your question: the pecularity of the White race isn't entirely blonde hair and blue eyes. Rather, it's that this race has a very wide spectrum of hair and eye color, a much wider spectrum than any other race has - a spectrum that INCLUDES blonde hair and blue eyes.

Why did white people have blonde hair and blue eyes?

genetics. and we can't all be blonde, darling.
