That depends on what color blonde your going for...platinum, golden, dirty, dark, etc. If you bleach your black hair it will turn orangish the first time, then subsequent times it will eventually start to turn a yellow blonde, then platinum blonde. You cant really go white unless you reach platinum then use a toner. A light yellow blonde is light enough to put whatever color you want in it. Just be sure to get a deep conditioner for color treated dry damaged hair....because any time you used bleach on your hair it becomes damaged.

You shouldn't do it yourself. You need to go to a pro that knows what they are doing like the other person said it will turn orange. Then you would have to bleach it again or end up dying it multiple times. And i'm sure you don't want to fry your hair. Good luck
