Im black. Is it okay to use white products on my hair?

you know like pantene and garnier!! BTW have u knoticed that only white people are in those commercials never black people. So.. my question is it okay? or will my hair break and damage!

You should probably stick to products meant

for African-American hair.

I've been told that people with "black hair" can

actually use better quality brands, like Joico,

Redken, or Garnier.

Pantene, probably not unless you use the line

for women of color. It might break and damage,

ask your mom, or your hairdresser first.

Do a little research too!

Hope that helps :)

Black hair is naturally dryer in texture. I would not recommend using either Pantene or Garnier. They are terrible for even Caucasian hair in the long run.

Yess, about all of the products are formulated to work on every type of hair, and every type of person. Find a nice conditioner, something with lots of moisture in it. Try Biolage, its on the pricy side but you can actually see the difference it makes :) Amaaazingg. A cheaper line that also works awesome is the Aussie line %26amp; it smells great too. If you're afraid that you're hair will damage, get a leave in conditioner.

Nah, but why would you want to use those?

Ever notice how in those commercial their hair looks super shinny but you would never see someone with perfect hair like that in real life? Matter of fact forget hair commercials just try to shop around for w/e works best in your hair. So many tricks they can do to make hair look great on TV.

It won't damage your hair, but it won't give your hair the moisture it needs either.

pantene pro v for women of color is good for you, and john frieda curl around is good also. im black and i use these and it brings out the natural curls in my hair and im sure itd do the same for you. black hair is so beautiful.

I think as long as you put some oil on it later, you can use any shampoos (especially the ones that say 'for dry hair')- but I agree with those who suggest to stick to back hair products to avoid drying your hair up too much. White people's hair get greasy fast and so hair products designed to wash that away, and so it dries black people's hair too much. (But I'm white so I don't know if it would REALLY do all that much damage, i only know that it will some)

I'm black and it is FINE to use white hair care products. But why would you want to unless the black products don't work for you? All black people don't have the same type of hair, just like all white people don't have the same type of hair ( some have striaght and some have curly, just like some peopel have oily skin and some people don't). Some of our hair is naturally thick and some is not. My hair is naturally very fine and thin. Black hair care products have made hair hard, and some white hair care products have done the same. I've used Garnier and Herbal Essences and they worked wonderful for me especially Garnier and CHI is another good one. You can't always go by what people you see or whats supposed to be made for you. You have to try products and see what works best for your hair type. Everyone is different
