There are 7 stages of lightening that hair goes through, and Bleach is the product to do it for you.....go to a professional, because you don't want to ruine your hair!

im not sure about brands, but i got my hair highlighted red before and since my hair was black, the salonist bleachd my hair before highlighting it so that the color could show up better. bleaching my hair made it turn a really light brown, so maybe for you, you could just bleach it multiple times. (no idea on if it damages your hair, but mines still fine after one round of bleaching)
